The Colac Youth Group supports young people with disabilities/additional needs to form friendships and social networks by providing a range of leisure activitities in the Colac community.
The Colac Youth Group is staffed by a recreation coordinator, who has experience in supporting people with disabilities in a range of leisure activities. An assistant also supports the group so that the needs of each individual member are met.
The Colac Youth Group is jointly funded by the State and Federal governments through the Home and Community Care (HACC) program and operates according to the HACC service quality standards framework.
Who is eligible for the Geelong Youth Group?
To be eligible for the Colac Youth Group the participant must: have a disability; be aged 15 years or more; and, live with a primary carer in the Colac region.
Where is it held?
The Colac Youth Group meets at the Gateways office in Hesse St, Colac, or at the activity venue.
How often does the group meet?
The Colac Youth Group meets during the school term on either a Friday night or on Saturdays during the day. Times vary depending on the scheduled activity.
What is the cost?
The minimum fee is $10 per session, but this may be higher depending on the activity. Participants and carers are informed of the fees prior to the beginning of each school term.
