Winning Days is a social group for teenagers aged between 14 and 18 years, who have a diagnosis of Asperger Syndrome.
Winning Days gives teenagers with Asperger Syndrome the opportunity to form friendships while experiencing new activities.
The group is staffed by a recreation coordinator, who has experience in supporting teenagers with Aspergers in both the secondary school setting and in leisure activities. Additional staff support is provided to ensure that the needs of group members are well met.
Winning Days is funded by the Department of Human Services.
Who is eligible for Winning Days?
Teenagers with a diagnosis of Asperger Syndrome aged between 14 to 18 years are eligible. The participant must also:
• Reside with primary carer in the City of Greater Geelong or Barwon region.
• Not be enrolled at Nelson Park School.
Where is Winning Days held?
Winning Days uses the Gateways office in Albert Street, Geelong West, as their base to plan their Saturday activity.
How often is it held?
Winning Days is held from 9am to noon, every second Saturday during school terms.
What is the Cost?
An activity fee of $10 per session is charged for Winning Days.
