What is the Colac School Holiday Program?
The Colac School Holiday Program gives children and young people with disabilities/additional needs the chance to participate in recreational activities and meet with their friends during the school holidays.
The Colac School Holiday Program is staffed by a recreation coordinator, who has experience in supporting people with disabilities in a range of leisure activities. An assistant is also on hand to provide support to ensure the needs of each individual is met.
The Colac School Holiday Program is jointly funded by the State and Federal governments through the Home and Community Care (HACC) program and operates according to the HACC service quality standards framework. In addition to this funding, the Commonwealth Carer Respite and Carelink Service also provides funding to support Colac families caring for a child with a disability.
Who is eligible for the Colac School Holiday Program?
Children aged between six and 16 years, who have a disability are eligible to be part of the Colac School Holiday Program. To be eligible participants must also live in the Colac region with their primary carer.

The Colac School Holiday Program is based at the Colac Specialist School.
How often is the program provided?
The Colac School Holiday Program is held during each school holidays throughout the year. The number of days offered during each holiday period depends on funding.
What is the Cost?
An activity fee of $10 per session is charged. Participants and carers are informed of dates, activities and fees for each activity prior to the start of each school holiday period.
