Gateways Support Services

Gateways Support Services is a responsive community organisation that empowers and supports children and adults who have a disability/additional need and their families.

Gateways currently assists more than 1300 children and adults, and their families, in the Western division of Victoria operating from several locations including Geelong, Warrnambool, Colac, Camperdown, and Hamilton.

We strive to provide responsive and innovative services that give children and adults with disabilities/additional needs, and their families, the chance to realise their potential and live enjoyable and meaningful lives in their local community.

This is achieved by offering responsive, specialist supports chosen by each individual. Gateways Board, managers and staff are absolutely committed to effective and innovative approaches and working in respectful partnerships with the people seeking our assistance.

Demand

Gateways need to expand to meet the increased demand for services for young children with autism and/or other disabilities as well as their families in our growing community.

Gateways are renovating and expanding their current Geelong West head office to provide purpose-built facilities to meet this demand. Renovations are due to be completed on 31st July 2013.

During this time, our temporary address is :- 444 Princes Highway, Corio, VIC 3214

Telephone and fax numbers will remain the same.

DisabilityCare Australia

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) will be known as DisabilityCare Australia, and is commencing in the Barwon area in July 2013, including Geelong, SurfCoast, Colac/Otway and Queenscliff areas. This is an exciting development for people with severe disabilities and their families which will hopefully reduce the time they wait for services and supports. We understand that detailed information will soon be released about how the scheme will operate. If you want the latest  information, visit the NDIS website at www.ndis.gov.au
