Current Vacancies  

Preschool Field Officer (2 days per week) 

Gateways seeks to employ an experienced early childhood teacher to work as a Preschool Field Officer providing support to children with additional needs and kindergarten staff in the Barwon region.

The successful applicant will report to the Family & Community Support Manager and will provide support and program advice for children with additional needs attending State-funded 4-year-old kindergarten programs.

A degree/diploma in early childhood teaching is mandatory. Five years experience in kindergarten teaching is highly desirable.

Casual Residential & Respite Workers

Gateways currently has casual positions available within its Community Living Support Services and Respite Programs. Our Community Living Support division has workplaces in Geelong and Camperdown. We seek to employ people who possess:

Valuing attitudes to people with disabilities
A belief in team work and cooperation 
A commitment to self-improvement
Effective communication skills 
Experience working with people with disabilities

All applicants must have Level 2 First Aid and a Working with Children’s Check. A current Victorian Driver's Licence is desirable. Employment is dependent upon Working with Children and Police Checks.

Geelong Police Disability Community Register

Corio Police approached Gateways Support Services in August 2011 to discuss the concept of using their existing Community Register framework for children with autism who lack awareness of danger and could be at risk, where police involvement may be required.
