Gateways is an approved 'Helping Children with Autism' provider of Early Intervention Services.

Positive Behaviour Support

The Team: Psychologist, experienced early childhood teachers, speech pathologists and occupational therapists.

Description of Service: Positive behaviour support seeks to understand the factors underlying the child's behaviour. This service is delivered in a range of settings including in the child’s home, childcare or kindergarten

Cost: $190+GST per session

Cost: $160+GST per session

Communication/Speech Pathology Services (in your home)

The Team: Speech Pathologist

Description of Service: Speech pathologists work with children to promote the development of understanding of the use of communication. This service is held in the client's home.

Cost: $190+GST a session, including one hour of service and program notes.

Communication/Speech Pathology Services (held at Gateways)

The Team: Speech Pathologist

Description of Service: Speech pathologists work with children to promote the development of understanding of the use of communication. This service is held at the Gateways office in Geelong West.

Cost: $160+GST a session, including one hour of service and program notes.

Hanen 'More than Words' Communication Training

The Team: Two speech pathologists.

Description of service: The Hanen 'More than Words' program is family focussed communication training for parents. It is a group program conducted by two speech pathologists and is held over 16 weeks including eight 2.5hr group sessions and four home visits.

Cost: $2400 incl. GST

Occupational Therapy/Sensory Integration

The Team: Occupational Therapist.

Description of service: The occupational therapist will conduct an assessment of the child and a range of appropriate sensory development and integration activities.

Cost: Sessions within the client's home cost $190+GST (includes one hour of service and program notes. Sessions held at the Gateways Support Service Geelong West office cost $160+GST (includes one hour of service and program notes).

Occupational Therapy/Independence Training

The Team: Occupational Therapist.

Description of service: The occupational therapist supports the child in independence/self help/toilet training and fine motor development.

Cost: Sessions within the client's home cost $190+GST (includes one hour of service and program notes. Sessions held at the Gateways Support Service Geelong West office cost $160+GST (includes one hour of service and program notes).

Inclusion Support

The Team: Early Intervention Teacher.

Description of service: Inclusion support and assistance with program planning and delivery at the child's mainstream environment to assist in the successful transition and inclusion of the child into childcare or kindergarten.

Cost: Support from an Early Intervention Teacher - $190+GST per session. Support via provision of a trained additional assistant - $60 per hour+GST.

Comprehensive Assessment - Early Intervention

The Team: Speech Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, Early Intervention Teacher.

Description of Service: Initial Comprehensive assessment on entry to the service to assess therapy and support needs.

Cost: $435+GST includes the development of an individual program plan.

Comprehensive Assessment - Inclusion Support

The Team: Speech Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, Early Intervention Teacher.

Description of service: Initial assessment on entry of needs for educational consultancy and educational support to assist in the successful transition at childcare or kindergarten.

Cost: $235+GST.

Autism Early Learning Program

The Team: Two trained early intervention/kindergarten teachers and two trained assistants with support of a speech pathologist one session per week and an occupational therapist two sessions per week.

Description of service: The Autism Early Learning Program combines an early intervention service and a kindergarten program. The group comprises 10 children and the program consists of three 2hr sessions per week, with a total of 100 sessions per calendar year.

Cost: $6000 per year incl. GST.
