Boost 4 Kids respite
Out-of-home respite for children and young people with complex medical health needs.

What is Boost 4 Kids respite?

Boost 4 Kids respite is out-of-home respite for children and young people with complex medical health needs.

Boost 4 Kids respite breaks are held six times a year, for four children at a time.

Boost 4 Kids is a community based service that is supported by Gateways Support Services, St Laurence Community Services, Barwon Health, the Victorian Department of Human Services, MacKillop Family Services, Barwon Health Carer respite and Carelink Services and parent representation.

What does it involve?

Boost 4 Kids respite stay is staffed by a Division 1 paediatrically trained nurse at all times, as well as personal care attendants.

Boost 4 kids also organises activities to suit the children’s ages and abilities such as Music Play Therapy. Staff keep a personal record of the child’s activities during their stay.

Where is it held?

Boost 4 Kids respite stays are held at ‘The Lodge’ – a St Laurence Community Services Respite House in Ocean Grove. It is a beautifully appointed modern facility with a home-feel set among well-cared for gardens.

Who is eligible for Boost 4 Kids respite?
