Gateways specialist therapy services are developed with you, for you, based on your strengths and goals

Gateways provides a range of individual and group based programs to support children and adults who have a disability or developmental delay.

Our Therapy  and Inclusion team have expertise in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), developmental delays,  intellectual disabilities such as Down syndrome and other disabilities and complex medical needs.

We can provide Psychology, Speech Pathology and Occupational Therapy services to children between the ages of 0-12 in the Geelong & Barwon regions, Western Melbourne and South West Victoria.  We also offer therapy services for adolescents and adults in the Geelong & Barwon regions.

The Gateways experienced and qualified team work with families to foster your child’s physical, communication, self-help and intellectual development, while also nurturing their self esteem, confidence and social skills. They can also help your child to successfully participate in a range of mainstream programs.  Our staff understand that each family needs an individually tailored plan of supports. They will respect and build on your family priorities and work with you on the changes that are important to your family.

Therapy services can be provided using funding, depending on your location and or a child’s development, through either:

  • National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
  • Helping Children with Autism Initiative (HCWA) or
  • Better Start initiative

We will always try to work with you to accommodate your needs, however depending  on the type of therapy you are requesting there may be a wait for some services.

We wouldn’t be where we are without the help of Gateways. The intensive early intervention we got made a massive difference. Everything you think of when you think of autism, that was just how he was at 15 months. Josh is now functioning, like a developing typical child, no one ever sees it anymore. So to go from that extreme to where he is today, it’s just amazing. Without Gateways I don’t know if Josh would be in mainstream school now. Brooke, Gateways Parent
