Current Services Update

September 19 2021, restrictions across Victoria have changed.

The Victorian Government has announced that restrictions will change at 11:59pm on September 19th for the City of Greater Geelong, the Surf Coast and Mitchell Shire. A seven-day lockdown will commence with restrictions the same as those in the City of Ballarat and metropolitan Melbourne, excluding the curfew.

Gateways is considered an essential service during this lockdown and we can continue to provide face-to-face support where this is essential, in accordance with the current restrictions in place.

Gateways services available during this lockdown are:

  • Our residential services continue operating under COVID-19 restrictions.
  • Individual supports in your home or externally if needed – just ring your team to see what might be available.
  • All therapy services have moved to telehealth unless face to face is essential.
  • Support Coordination will offer phone and video supports and is available to    help ensure appropriate supports remain for your needs during this time.
  • Plan management is operating as normal
  • Camps and Recreation programs are all cancelled during the lockdown but we can where needed offer you some one on one support.
  • Additional assistance and Preschool field officer continue as usual while kindergartens are open.

August 10th 2021, Regional Victoria Update:

The Victorian Government has announced that lockdown restrictions in regional Victoria will be lifted at 11:59pm, August 9th 2021. The five reasons to leave home are removed in regional Victoria however, people will only be able to travel to Melbourne for a permitted reason and you must follow the Melbourne restrictions once there. The stay at home orders remain in place in metropolitan Melbourne.

June 3rd COVID-19 Update

The Victorian Government has today announced that Melbourne will remain in lockdown for a further seven days with some small changes in restrictions.
Lockdown restriction has been lifted in Regional Victoria, while some restriction still remains in effect.
Melbourne Update:
If you are Greater Melbourne there are still only five reasons to leave home:
• Shopping for food and supplies
• Authorised work and study
• Care and caregiving
• Exercise
• And getting vaccinated
The 5km travel radius has now been expanded to 10km radius.

Regional Victoria Update:

Lockdown has been lifted for Regional Victoria from 11.59pm on 3rd June, a number of restrictions still apply:
• Schools will return to face to face learning for all year level
• Visitors are not allowed to home except for care and caregiving
o People living alone can establish a social bubble with one other person
• Restaurants and cafes can reopen to a maximum of 50 people
• Public gatherings increase to a group size up to 10 people

As Victoria goes into another snap lockdown, we know that this can cause a lot of challenges, stress and anxiety for families and individuals. Updated May 27, 2021

The State Government have announced that the whole state of Victoria will go into lockdown from 11:59pm tonight until 11.59pm 3 June, 2021.

From 11:59pm tonight, the following restrictions will take place:

  1. shopping for necessary goods and services,
  2. authorised work or permitted education,
  3. exercise, a 2-hour limit with one other person,
  4. care giving, compassionate, and medical reasons
  5. The fifth reason why you can leave your home … to get vaccinated.

 

Other restrictions to return

  1. No visitors to your home other than an intimate partner. Single bubbles will be permitted. If you live alone, you can make a bubble with another person.
  2. No public gatherings.
  3. Restaurants, pubs, and cafes can provide takeaway only.
  4. Essential retail, so supermarkets, food stores, petrol stations, banks, bottle shops and pharmacies, other retail stores can provide click and collect.
  5. Childcare and kinders will be open as per the last circuit breaker lockdown earlier this year.
  6. Approved professional sporting events will proceed but proceed without crowds.
  7. Schools will move to remote learning, except for vulnerable children, and children of authorised workers.
  8. Higher education will move to remote learning only.
  9. Community support and recreation, accommodation, but there will be some exemptions that apply.
  10. Hotels, clubs, TABs and the casino will be closed,
  11. Indoor and outdoor entertainment venues, swimming pools, spas, saunas, indoor and outdoor springs, community venues, drive in cinemas, amusements parks and arcades, creative studios, art galleries and museums, tourism, tours, and transport, and auctions can only happen online.
  12. Aged care facilities, no visitors except for limited reasons.
  13. In our hospitals, visitors only for end of life, to support a partner during birth, or a parent accompanying a child.
  14. In terms of ceremonies, funerals, a maximum of 10 people plus those running the service.
  15. Weddings cannot proceed unless end of life or deportation reasons apply.
  16. Religious activities will not proceed other than through broadcast with a maximum of five people.

As per instructions from the Circuit Breaker Action Gateways Support Services will:

  • Postpone all non-essential face to face services by 11:59pm tonight.
  • If you have face to face appointments these will be changed to zoom or phone connections
  • All group programs and community activities must be postponed
  • All essential services including residential support and individual support in an individual’s house will continue.

Program managers and team leaders contact families to advise them of the cancellation of group or community activities
