Gateways Support Services Boost 4 Kids Respite Program overnight out-of-home care is for children aged 0-18 years with a disability and complex medical health needs.  Boost 4 Kids is held during six to eight weekends a year, for up to six children.  It provides specialised support as well as recreational and social opportunities for children.

Boost 4 Kids is a community-based service located in Geelong, which is supported by Gateways Support Services in partnership with GenU and Barwon Health.

What does it involve?

Boost 4 Kids provides active 24 hour care by a team of a Division 1 paediatrically trained nurse and personal care attendants.  Staff keep a personal record of each child’s support needs during their stay.

Boost 4 kids also organises in house activities to engage the children and encourage social interaction.

Where is it held?

Boost 4 Kids stays are held at ‘The Lodge’ – a Gen U Respite House in Ocean Grove. It is a beautifully appointed modern facility with a “homelike” feel, set among an acre of well-cared for gardens.

Who is eligible for Boost 4 Kids respite?

To access Boost 4 Kids a child must have a complex medical condition and receive funding through their NDIA plan.   A special quote is required.  Please contact the Boost 4 Kids Coordinator for more details.
