Colac School Holiday Program
The Colac School Holiday Program gives children and young people with disabilities/additional needs the chance to participate in recreational activities and meet with their friends during the school holidays.
The Colac School Holiday Program is staffed by a recreation coordinator, who has experience in supporting people with disabilities in a range of leisure activities. An assistant is also on hand to provide support to ensure the needs of each individual is met.
Who is eligible for the Colac School Holiday Program?
Children aged between 6 and 16 years, who have a disability are eligible to be part of the Colac School Holiday Program. To be eligible participants must be able to be supported in a group based program and have a current NDIA plan with the following support item:
- Participate Community – group based community, social & recreational activities OR
- Have a Community Access Bundle
Where is it held?
The Colac School Holiday Program is based at the Colac Specialist School and then ventures out from there for their fun activities.
How often is the program provided?
The Colac School Holiday Program is held during each school holidays throughout the year. Please contact our Colac Recreation Coordinator to find out which days the program will run during term holidays.
What is the Cost?
You will need to pay an activity fee for each session attended. This fee will be based on whatever the particular activity is for that day.If you have the following NDIA line item in your NDIA plan Gateways will claim the activity cost through NDIA:
- 23 023 Participate Community – Community, Social & Recreational Activity Costs
If you don’t have this NDIA line item in your NDIA plan you will need to pay the activity cost on the day.
