After three years as CEO, and a decade of commitment to the disability sector, Stephanie Gunn has advised the Board that she has chosen to resign from Gateways.

Ms Gunn led Gateways through an unprecedented period of change and challenge – navigating COVID-19 and readying Gateway’s systems, processes and capabilities for the future.

‘My goal was to sustain and grow Gateways’ well-renowned quality services for people west of Melbourne through Geelong and southwest Victoria and drive the principles of inclusion while positioning us with confidence for the future. Despite COVID-19 interruptions and through the hard work of all staff, we have made great strides in these objectives.

Stephanie joined Gateways following an extensive and senior career in the disability sector and the public service. She was able to bring this wealth of experience to empower Gateways to meet the needs of our participants and families, particularly in times of major change in the sector and with the pandemic.

Gateways Board Chair, Keith Baillie, expressed the Board’s appreciation for Stephanie’s contribution.

“We are grateful to Stephanie for her commitment and passion. She truly cares for our participants and our staff and we are well positioned to take Gateways forward.”

“Stephanie used her skills and commitment to lead us through a very challenging time at Gateways. Throughout it has been reassuring to have Stephanie’s leadership.”

“The Board thanks Stephanie for her commitment and contribution, and she should be proud of her efforts” Mr Baillie added.
Stephanie reflected on her time as CEO and on Gateways’ role in the community.

“I would like to thank our staff and the Board for their support during my time as CEO. Gateways makes an outstanding contribution to our community and is invaluable for participants and their families.”

“I am particularly proud about how we supported our participants during the pandemic, but also how we help people in their lives every day.”

“Gateways turns 40 this year and I am confident it will continue to support our participants well into the future.”

“I am taking some time with my family and will embrace serendipity to contribute to our community in the future”.

The Board has commenced the recruitment of a new CEO to take Gateways into the future.
