Gateways Easter Family Fun Festival 2025: A day to celebrate!
What a beautiful day we had at the 2025 Easter Family Fun Festival! With sunshine, smiles and over 1,200 people coming along, it truly felt like something special.
From the moment the gates opened, there was a real buzz in the air. Families wandered from activity to activity, kids laughed as they had their faces painted or bounced high on the bungee trampolines, and the adults enjoyed a chat and a FREE coffee while the little ones played giant games or tried out the mini golf.
There was so much to see and do. The day kicked off with a magical performance by local young magician Sam Jenkins. The crowd then joined in with a fun family fitness class run by Fernwood Fitness—and yes, the Easter Bunny even joined in for a few star jumps! We were treated to fantastic live performances from the JADA dance group, Levi Anderson, and crowd favourite HollyPop the drag queen, who brought sparkles, smiles and plenty of fun to the stage.
One of the highlights of the day was seeing so many of our Gateways clients and their families enjoying the festival together. There were smiles, laughter, and lots of happy moments shared. Our Gateways ambassadors, Brooke and Sammy, helped judge the Easter Bonnet Parade—always a favourite, and it was clear they were having just as much fun as the kids showing off their colourful creations. Sammy has already told us she can’t wait to be an ambassador again next year!
There were also lovely quieter moments—families posing for a photo booth snap, people showing off their caricatures, or simply sitting by the stage enjoying the music and the delicious food on offer.
None of this would have been possible without the amazing volunteers who gave up their time to help run activities, welcome families and keep everything running smoothly. Your kindness and energy made such a difference, and we’re so grateful.
It really was a day full of joy, connection and community. We’re already looking forward to next year—but for now, thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a memorable day.
