Check out our latest therapy toy!

Last week we were thrilled to have Christina from Dizzy Disc Australia visit us and present our Therapy & Inclusion Team with their very own Dizzy Disc.

Recently, one of our Gateways families entered a competition for the chance to win a Dizzy Disc for themselves and one for their Occupational Therapist, and we were the lucky winners!

Virginnia who has two children supported by Hannah from our Therapy & Inclusion Team, had to share a little about the support her family has received from Gateways as part of the entry.

“Part of the competition was that you could also win one for your OT. I thought that was fantastic!  It was easy for me to write about how fantastic Hannah is with our family. Hannah has been a valued part of our lives for quite a while now. Her professionalism, enthusiasm, positivity and bubbly personality make her simply wonderful. I’m so pleased to share this with Hannah.” Virginia said.

Dizzy Discs can support sensory regulation for children with Autism (ASD) and ADHD as they enjoy the calming feeling while spinning. It can also help  improve balance and coordination as well as develop their gross and fine motor skills.

A big thank you to Virginnia for entering Gateways we are looking forward to trialing the new equipment in our therapy sessions.
