Celebrating World Down Syndrome Day

Our celebration at Gateways today was made even more special as we got to celebrate the 1st birthday of the adorable Jude, who was born on World Down Syndrome day exactly 1 year ago!
Gateways also hosted a beautiful morning tea for our Down Syndrome Parent Support group.
March 21st is World Down Syndrome Day, which has been officially recognised by the United Nations since 2012. On this day, people all around the world celebrate the lives and achievements of people with Down syndrome, creating a global voice, advocating for the rights, inclusion and well-being of people with Down syndrome.
Forget the cupcake, it’s all about the candle for Jude on his birthday.
