We offer a diverse range of age-appropriate activities throughout the week and during school holidays—ensuring there’s always something exciting happening, all year round.
Regular Programs – These programs run on an ongoing weekly or fortnightly basis, in line with Victorian school term dates. Regular programs take a break during school holidays and do not run on public holidays.
Social Sessions and Holiday Program – These sessions are one-off activities and experiences which take place on a specific date and time.
School Holiday Program – This program runs on every weekday during the school holiday period in line with the Victorian school term break dates and do not run on public holidays.
At Gateways, our programs are designed not just for fun, but for real-life learning. We create inclusive, meaningful experiences where participants can build practical skills alongside peers, in real community settings.
By joining our programs, you’ll develop everyday life and social skills, like making friends, taking turns, waiting in line, paying for items, using public transport, and understanding social situations in different environments. Best of all, you’ll be learning while having fun, building confidence, and going home with a smile.
NDIS Funding
If you have an NDIS package, NDIS rates will apply. These activities come under ‘Core Supports’. Support costs are charged from your NDIS plan and are separate to out of pocket costs.
Out of Pocket Cost
The out-of-pocket cost is the fee that covers the participant’s expenses related to an activity or experience, such as entry fees, tickets, meals, or resources and materials used during the session.
Gateways pre-books some activities. If you cancel and we can’t fill your spot, you may still need to pay the activity fee. Please give us as much notice as possible to avoid this.
Important update for Recreation fees
NDIS no longer covers recreation activity fees. These must now be paid out of pocket. We have payment options available, please contact us for more information.
Individual Transport
Transport to and from home may be available for programs or sessions at an additional cost to the participant’s NDIS plan. Availability is assessed on a case-by-case basis, depending on support worker availability and the logistics of the activity or session.
Please let us know about your transport needs when we contact you. All transport must be booked at least 5 business days prior to the activity date.
Medication
If the participant attending a program or session will be brining medication, a medication treatment sheet is required to be completed and signed by a general practitioner. All medications in tablet and capsule form should be in a Webster pack from the chemist. For any other types of medications, please keep them in their original packaging with labels intact.
Please let us know about your medication needs when we contact you. Medications will not be accepted without the proper documentation or storage.
Cancellations
If you cancel within 7 days of the program/activity (including due to illness or COVID-19), you may still be charged for support, as per the NDIS price guide. The cost will depend on whether we can fill your spot.
Some out-of-pocket costs may apply if we can’t find a replacement, no matter when you cancel.
