Social Songwriting music group is a fun way for primary school-aged children to learn social and language skills through music and songwriting.
Facilitated by a Speech Pathologist and Allied Health Assistant, participants will work together, using industry level recording equipment, to write lyrics and music to create an original song.
Participants will learn a range of skills, including:
- Working collaboratively
- Sharing and expressing ideas
- Compromising and incorporating others’ ideas
- Flexibility and positive negotiation
- Staying on topic
- Following rules
- Turn-taking
- General language and literacy
At the end of the program, all participants will receive a copy of their very own original song to play and be proud of.
