Social Songwriting

Social Songwriting music group is a fun way for primary school-aged children to learn social and language skills through music and songwriting.

Facilitated by a Speech Pathologist and Allied Health Assistant, participants will work together, using industry level recording equipment, to write lyrics and music to create an original song.

Participants will learn a range of skills, including:

  • Working collaboratively
  • Sharing and expressing ideas
  • Compromising and incorporating others’ ideas
  • Flexibility and positive negotiation
  • Staying on topic
  • Following rules
  • Turn-taking
  • General language and literacy

At the end of the program, all participants will receive a copy of their very own original song to play and be proud of.
