Carer Wellness Hub at the Gateways Easter Family Fun Festival 💚

Caring for someone else is incredibly important, but it’s just as important to take time to care for yourself too.

At this year’s Gateways Easter Family Fun Festival, we’re proud to offer a dedicated Carer Wellness Hub, a welcoming space where carers can pause, recharge, and connect with others who understand the journey of caring.

✨ What’s happening:

Carer Connect Information Sessions (45 minutes) at 11:30am and 1:30pm
These sessions will help connect carers with useful services, resources and supports available in the community, while also providing the opportunity to meet and share experiences with other carers.

Special Guest Speaker – Paula Kontelj OAM from Fernwood Fitness Waurn Ponds will share insights on health and wellbeing for carers, including practical and realistic ways to prioritise your own wellbeing while caring for others in our Carer Connect information sessions. Paula brings more than 40 years of experience in health and wellbeing, helping people stay active and prioritise their physical and mental health.

Peer Connect Sessions
Stay after the information sessions to connect with other carers in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Activities for the people you support
While you take time for yourself, our Individual Support team will be running fun, engaging activities nearby, so your loved one will be supported while you take some time for yourself.

🐰 Volunteers wanted for Gateways Easter Family Fun Festival 🎉

We are looking for volunteers to support our upcoming Gateways Easter Family Fun Festival.

This much-loved community event brings the community together for a celebration of inclusion, connection and fun.

Event details:
📅 Date: Sunday 29th March 2026
⏰ Time: 10am – 3pm (quiet hour 10am – 11am)
📍 Location: Norlane ARC, 1-9 Cox Road, Geelong 3214

Volunteer shifts available:
• 8:00am – 3:00pm (Full Day)
• 9:00am – 4:00pm (Full Day)
• 10:00am – 2:00pm (Half Day)

All volunteers will receive a festival t-shirt, Gateways hat and lunch on the day.

There are no specific skills or qualifications required — just a willingness to help, a positive attitude, and a love of community events!

⛳ We’re still buzzing from our 22nd Annual Gateways Charity Golf Day! 💚

What an incredible day on the green, filled with great swings, friendly competition and a whole lot of community spirit.

🏌️ Thanks to your generosity, we’re excited to share that together we raised an amazing $31,040.82 to enhance the lives of people with disability and provide meaningful, inclusive and innovative programs and opportunities for our Gateways clients.
