Geelong Cats fan’s dream comes true!

Gateways & Geelong Cats footy clinic for Autism Awareness month

Tonight’s Geelong Cats game is going to be extra special for one of our Gateways families. During our recent footy clinic which we held to celebrate Autism awareness month, one of the parents Samantha, told the Cats team that her 10 year old daughter Maddison’s dream, was to one day be out on the ground with the players during a real game.

Well only a few weeks on and the Geelong Cats are making Maddison’s dream a reality! They’ve invited her to be a part of the guard of honour when the players run onto the ground, and have also given Maddison’s whole family tickets to go along to the game and share in her big moment.

Thanks also to the generous support we receive from our community partner Westfield Geelong, we were able to make sure that Madison will be decked out in her Cats supporters gear. Earlier this week, Gateways Respite, Recreation & Family Support Manager Vicki Cameron, happily presented Samantha with some Cats merchandise for Maddison to wear to the game in her important role.

A big thanks to Geelong Cats & Westfield Geelong, tonight one young girl’s dream will officially come true.

Go Cats!
