Find your place in a shared home in St Albans Park

We’re excited to share a new supported living opportunity in St Albans Park, Geelong. 

A two-bedroom Good Housing SDA home is now able to support two residents, and we’re currently seeking a compatible housemate to join Lachlan, who is ready to move in and start his next chapter.

Meet Lachlan 

Lachlan is a friendly, independent young man looking for the right person to share his home with. 

He enjoys getting out and about, often selling The Big Issue, exploring the local community, or soaking up the atmosphere at events like the footy. He has a passion for using his computer, videoing trains, visiting his cousins, and helping others in wheelchairs access public transport. 

Lachlan has a fun sense of humour and enjoys spending time with positive, good-natured people. He values his independence and thrives in an environment that supports choice and control. While he enjoys social connection and sharing a laugh, he also appreciates quiet time, particularly when working on podcasts or relaxing. 

A fun fact about Lachlan: he is a former Paralympian, an experience that has shaped him into a resilient, motivated, and committed individual. 

 

Supported Independent Living (SIL) 

This home operates under Supported Independent Living (SIL), meaning Lachlan and his future housemate have access to the support they need while maintaining independence and choice. SIL helps with: 

• Daily living tasks when needed, such as meal preparation, transport, or personal care 

• Accessing social, community, and recreational activities 

• Encouraging independence, skill-building, and personal growth 

• Creating a safe, positive, and supportive home environment 

With SIL, residents enjoy the best of both worlds: support when required, and the freedom to live life on their own terms.
